Erika Millard (Damiani ) is the founder of Tir Na Nog Irish Dance. Erika began her journey and love of Irish Dance in 2003. Erika has taken workshops with a number of prominent RI and New England teachers including Kieran Jordan, and also Kevin Doyle with whom she often performs with for Pendragon - RI's own Traditional Celtic Band! Erika continues to study Irish Dance from many master level teachers and competes on her own. Erika studied Irish Dance and Technique at the University of Limerick, in Limerick, Ireland.

 

At the age of 23, Erika founded Tir Na Nog Irish Dance and runs it through the Blackstone River Theatre in Cumberland, RI. Since 2005, Erika has taught Irish dance to many studios, instructed workshops at many elementary schools, after school programs, performing arts schools and much more! She holds 3 National titles through NAIDF in 2009, 2011, and 2012.

Erika holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Rhode Island College and worked in a hospital setting. Erika also holds a Master’s Degree from Merrimack College in Elementary Education and is a certified teacher through the state of RI. Education is greatly important to Erika and she always encourages her students to do well in school and study hard. Work hard, Play hard, Dance hard! 

Erika always had a dream of opening her own dance school and sharing her love and knowledge of Irish Dance, culture, and language to many wonderful children and dancers.  

With Tir Na Nog Irish Dance, Erika is thrilled to have realized this dream of running her own dance school – one where having fun, making friends and growing as individuals is just as important as becoming amazing Irish Dance performers!
